I’m Nicholas Doll, a Sports Communication and Media student at Sacred Heart University with experience in live sports production, videography, editing, and reporting. My strongest interest is in live production, particularly the way technical decisions can shape how a game or story is presented to an audience. I’ve worked across camera, replay, graphics, directing, and post-production, and I continue to build experience in each area.
My current work includes Division I broadcasts with Sacred Heart Athletics and live game production with the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. At Somerset, I have worked in camera, replay, graphics, and directing roles on broadcasts distributed through MLB.tv and YES Network. I also cover high school sports across New Jersey for Jersey Sports Zone, where I shoot and edit highlights, conduct interviews, and produce stories under deadline.
Before college, much of my foundation came through Union Catholic Sports Media, Cranford TV-35, and the Jersey Shore Basketball League. Those opportunities gave me early experience directing live broadcasts, working in multi-camera environments, operating graphics, and learning how the different parts of a production come together behind the scenes.
My path into sports media began when I was 13, when I attended a Somerset Patriots job fair and was told I was too young to work there and should come back when I was sixteen. I spent the next few years building experience wherever I could, then returned to Somerset at sixteen as a member of the broadcast crew. Since then, I’ve continued looking for opportunities that challenge me, expand my technical skills, and move me closer to the level of production I hope to work in long term.
